Find your garden centre

Webbs Cheltenham Garden Centre is located near the world famous Cheltenham Race course on the A435, two miles from the town center. The site was bought in 1985 and a small garden center called Prestbury Nurseries was established. Since then it has developed into a large garden center, where plants still Remain at the heart of the business.

My two friends and I have been to blooms in Chelt this morning , we had a lovely cooked breakfast. Unfortunately the service in the garden centre was very poor, we brought plants, they were good but we asked advice on one if the unusual looking cacti plant. The young lad rang the bell for help, we waited , two more young people arrived to start serving at tills, still we waited. As my friend had to go to work we decided to pay for our plants , we complained at the till that nobody had come to help help us, we didn’t want to pay a lot of money for a plant and have no advice on how to look after it. Anyway we brought our plants , reminded that we were waiting and a tall dark haired young lad just said oh right, we explained we couldn’t wait any longer but the lad was not at all interested in helping us was looking to rush us through the till to serve nxt customer, I told him he had lost a sale of over 20 quid and he just shrugged his shoulders , Shame might never go back !!!!!!!

Visited "Blooms" today in Cheltenham - BUT it wasn't the Blooms as I knew it - it is now part of the multiple 'Wyevale Garden Centres'. And it shows! - "Pile it high and sell it Expensive". Lots of bought in trolleys full of plants begging for a drink. Huge price hikes on ordinary stock - six pack prices 30% more than my local 'home grown' garden centre bedding plants. Staff seem to be fire fighting but doing their best. At the fortnightly sales meeting, you can imagine the Area Manager telling a harassed site manager "You are not here to water plants - you are here to sell them". Oh well - another multiple conning the public with their flash sales pitch. Great Shame!

I bought a shed from World of Smile, what a misnomer! John Burke, managing director, very nice and friendly while trying to sell you a shed but once he's got your money, he really shows his true colours. He couldn't have been more dismissive of the problems he caused if he tried. Would recommend anyone thinking of buying from there DON'T.
