Chigwell Nursery

Wanted 3 apple/pear trees with local delivery ( 4 miles) I thought they would happily accomodate me but the lady wasnt too keen on the idea. Eventually said it would be £8. I have gone elsewhere and although 25 miles away the trees were of much superior and the cost of delivery the same. Poor service and the staff seemed generally miserable without a "good morning " or a smile

The selection of plants and shrubs are excellent, healthy and the best locally. The local delivery is very cheap £6, The selection of pots and plants and garden ornaments are excellent. When they have sale bargains these are good. Some shrubs are very expensive but you can normally get what you are looking for. Extremely wide range of Christmas trees and reasonably priced. Christmas lights and ornaments excellent. Very good range of garden utensils. However, most of the staff are uncommunicative, often verging on rude and unwelcoming. When I first shopped at the centre I thought that the staff were just 'not nice' to me but speaking to other people they seem to have similar experiences. A few members of staff greet with a smile always but they do not seem to be the ones in positions of power. I could easily go there every week and buy something if the atmosphere at the till was better.
