I am writing this on behalf of my parents & sister. They went today to Dobbies Gailey for lunch & left very unhappy & disappointed with both food and service...
They ordered panini one with brie & bacon the other ham & cheese, they got dry bread rolls that had been on panini press, instead it was rind of brie no cheese & bacon hard lump. The ham was replaced with bacon & little bit of cheese. The young lady serving was both disinterested & rude. This us so unusual for restaurant the staff are normally superb and the food great and as they go with my sister several times a month to eat there are not strangers to restaurant. New staff need proper training & if someone said that their order couldn't be filled they would have chosen differently but they weren't given the option. Very poor to usual standards.

My wife and I visited your Garden Centre at Ponteland today Saturday 21/01/2017 and decided to have lunch in the restaurant. What transpired next was nothing short of chaos. We ordered our meals and took our tables.After half an hour later we were still waiting, I asked one of waitresses what the problem was she said there was shortage of people on the hob, At this point the people on the table next to us said they had waited for forty five minutes.These people a actually demanded there money back with very little apology.After we complained our meal arrived however if we hadn't complained we would have waited longer.Other people were also complaining that people who had arrived after them were being served before them.I would suggest an overhaul of your Resturant practises because after today you have probably lost some custom.In closing I should say the waiting staff did there best but there was no Resturant Manager with any apology. Not a good advert

This is just a review on the restaurant at Dobbies in Gailey. I visit Dobbies up in Preston/Blackpool quite regularly and always enjoy excellent food there. So on a visit to relations in the Midlands we thought we'd be sure of a decent lunch - big mistake!! I opted for the salad bar, waited at least 5 mins for someone to appear to serve me with coronation chicken to go with my salad. In all honesty the chicken seemed to be reformed chicken (we call it plastic chicken) in the most disgusting sauce with not a hint of curry. My mum chose the mushroom soup & wished she hadn't! We've never come across mushroom soup thickened with potato. All in all a dreadful lunch which was an absolute waste of money as apart from the salad everything else was left. However we took advantage of the 2 for 1 offer on the scones and they were absolutely scrummy.
