Excellent place to visit be it for foodies gifts or really good plants. They stock a wide range of goodies for all purses I even do my Christmas shopping here as the promotions and discounts are the best around. Excellent service from all staff especially the restaurant and the Portland museum is definitely worth visiting and its totally free of any admission charges. Great day out and I would recommend to anyone visiting in the area.

Visited the dukeries garden centre yesterday and was hugely disappointed. Not been for about five years, and couldn't believe the decline in the quality of the garden centre. Yes, there are numerous cafe's, book shops, pet sales, clothing and camping sales, but a distinct lack of plants and gardening related stuff compared to my last visit years ago. It seems to have become a gardening themed retail experience. A shame as it used to be an excellent place. Which leads me to the appearance and maintenance of the place - terrible. Appeared unkempt and neglected, with several plastic bags in the little pond at the bottom and paths etc in need of a good sweep. The beautiful Victorian glasshouses which provide the character and charm of the place seem to be in need of tlc. They appear to be starting to decay, with one cordened off completely through rotting wood and the others under used.would be a real shame and loss to the hertiage of the dukeries if these beautiful glasshouses were lost!
