Visited on a Sunday afternoon looking to buy a hydrangea.Unable to find what we were looking for we asked a member of staff for assistance. The person we spoke to was very polite but was only till trained and pointed us out to another assistant. This assistant couldn't give us the time of day.He casually waved us in the general direction of the shade plants and went to help another customer. We waited patiently for him to deal with the other customer as we still could not find what we were looking for and wanted some help and advice. We were totally ignored. We left feeling completely disappointed with Hilliers and certainly would never go back again or recommend them to anyone else.

Restaurant Review Although this is a lovely place to visit be careful in the restaurant if ordering the gluten or dairy free options as they still put items on your plate that are not dairy gluten free. I checked with cashier that everything would be dairy free and she said yes but when meal arrived it had gravy and Yorkshire pudding on. If offering these meals then they should be what they're advertised as. The staff were very helpful and changed my meal but it was upsetting to me personally

Hilliers have become more of a shop now than a specialist nursery, you don't get a choice of out of season plants/shrubs and when in the season are more expensive. Nice if you wish to buy a plant at its peak and most expensive but not so good if you want to plan a season ahead. There doesn't seem to be such great plant knowledge or flair unless you are lucky and catch the correct member of staff.
