Squires Garden Centre-Stanmore

I have to say, rather disappointed as per the reviews of last year.Although the centre looks colourful and full of flowers in the bedding area and rather packed in, the remainder of the planteria does not seem to be maintained and I found many perennials and shrub pots weeded and old.On speaking to the so called plant manager, quite frankly he does not seem to know much about plants whatsoever.He just tried to hurry me along, saying 'alright, alright', in an obvious false talk.The chap called James and did not know the difference between some of the plants!! I then over to actual working staff outside.One lady, called Mary, knew her horticultural stuff, advised me with grace, genuiness and almost a bespoke service, from sourcing the plants, carrying them to a trolley and then wheeling the heavy load plus compost bags straight to the till queue.This lady helped me through,packed my plants into boxes and then pushed the trolley for me to my car. Incredible personal service! Well done;-))

I have been coming to this store for many years now throughout all its name changes...I just wanted to put down in writing how pleased I am that this is my local centre, The staff are always extremely polite and knowledgable. I was in the store a couple of weeks ago and was given some very sound information from a lady called Christine in the plants. She was very attentive and made it feel like nothing was too much trouble,I was made to feel like it was a personal shopping experience and that she is like that with all the customers that she speaks to, not just going through the motions to make a sale. I would also like to make a special mention to the stunning Christmas area. I have been to the store over the past ten years or so and it always looks amazing. I have been in retail in the W. End for part of my working life and it always knocks spots off anything I have seen there. The attention to detail is second to none and have huge admiration for those involved. Please pass this on.
