On a very wet Saturday afternoon, my partner and I called at the walled garden for a hot cup of tea. We certainly were not disappointed when we discovered that the tea in the tea pot was actually loose tea as opposed to the standard issue of tea bags, of varying quality. This was delicious, full bodied and full of flavour. The afternoon tea which accompanied it was very enjoyable, choosing your type of bread, filling and choice of three jams to accompany the home-made scone and clotted cream. Reasonably priced at £7.50 per person for afternoon tea and taken in a very enjoyable setting, given it was raining, certainly brightened up our afternoon.
We certainly will return and visit the Secret Garden, hopefully without a brolley and wellingtons being required.

What a GEM! Such a joy to visit this lovely place recently after work (they're open til 5.30 in the week). Loads of bargains! I've been looking for a number of pots on a budget and was spoilt for choice here with many different options, all nice quality. Picked up some mature plants for my new troughs for only £1.99 each (or 6 for £9). Troughs are solid wood, robust, beautifully finished and at UNDER £30 each a great find. Also spotted their well-filled hanging baskets from only £15. Compared to many garden centres in the area it felt well stocked with great quality plants at good prices, all well presented. I must mention Kate for whom nothing was too much trouble, she's a real asset to the garden centre. A yummy magnum ice-cream as I left for home a very satisfied customer who can't wait to come back when I have more time to check out the hanging baskets and garden furniture - and maybe a cheeky lunch in the charming cafe courtyard.
