We have visited Caerphilly for a number of years, and it is fair to say that the Christmas displays of previous years have been scaled back. As a retailer, I understand the balance of writing off stock for display versus profit, so I get it, but it doesn't have the magic and wow factor of previous years. However, we go back every year and why? Simple, Father Christmas, he is simply wonderful. The epitome of warmth. Maybe he recognises us after our many visits? But he certainly pays special attention to our youngest, who as a little girl who struggles with social issues and certainly isn't tactile. And yet on Sunday, when Poppy walked in he looked up, and said "oh come here, give me a hug!" And she did a proper cwtch, probably the loveliest Christmas memory, already made!. He is quite literally like Richard Attenborough's Father Christmas but obviously real! Please keep making Christmas so special for children and parents alike.

Came today with my 83 year old aunt and 24 year old niece.My aunt has moved to Caerphilly from Cardiff. So thought it be a nice place to go. I absolutely loved it.. we bought some amazing gifts. My niece home from Miami ,works on the cruise ships. .She bought some gifts for her colleagues to take back.All so classy and affordable. We ate in the restaurant. We are all vegetarians the food choice was excellent. ALL your staff friendly happy in all areas.Definitely returning..after the hussle and bussle of Cardiff it is such a great place to shop, eat and generally relaxing to wander around. Food was first class.Well done- well impressed.Can't wait to come again

My husband and I visited the garden centre for a snack to eat. Good menu. Opted for cheese and ham toasties. Lovely thick bread and lashings of filling, together with side salad and coleslaw. Delicious and good value. Lovely Christmas display in store and gifts and candles. We are not local but we're staying with family nearby. Will definitely be returning though.
