Dunston Hall Garden Centre has been my first port of call for plants and everything I need for my lawns and flower beds for many years. Although a very popular place there is usually a parking place available. Garden centre staff are helpful. Lots of advice available about plant care. Seedlings Coffee Shop is excellent.

I quite often visit Dunston Hall Garden Centre even though I no longer live in the area because it's convenient when I'm visiting relatives, they sell a good range of healthy, small plants and stock interesting additional items such as gardening tools and products for pets and wild birds. It is easy to find presents for plant-loving friends.
The cafe has a conservatory that partly overlooks the plants area so we like to eat where we can see swathes of colour, which is particularly welcome in winter. It's homely in a nice sort of way, with a fair range of high quality food, cooked well. I would like to be able to choose a hot, vegetarian 'special' however, which is lacking from the menu at present, a pity when there are usually three meat dishes to choose from.

My husband recently bought some lawn turf from Dunston Hall Garden Centre.
It was really refreshing to find such an obliging attitude from the staff, in particular the chap with the earrings. They were quick and efficient from ordering and paying for the turf the night before through to collecting it. Nothing was too much trouble for them. He had to call again for some top soil and they were ready again to help.
Service like that is excellent, no moaning just helpful, many thanks, we will be calling again soon.
