While out for a treat with my 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren (4 & 2) we visited the cafe in Woodbank Nurseries. When our food arrived and we asked for a spare plate, as the children were sharing, we were advised it was not the policy to give spare plates to customers. Our bill was over £25 and we were not allowed a clean spare plate!!! This curmudgeonly, unfriendly and unbelievable policy will ensure that I and my family never visit this garden centre again. Our special treat was ruined. THIS CAFE MUST BE THE EBENEZER SCROOGE OF GARDEN CENTRE CAFES.

I visited the garden centre with my daughter & 2 small grandchildren. We popped into the cafe for lunch, the highlight of our visit..normally. Our lunch arrived & we asked for an extra plate for the 2 year old as the children were going to share a meal. We were told that it was the policy of the cafe not to give spare plates to customers! I was appalled at this petty unfriendly policy & will never patronise the garden centre or cafe again. Our special treat was ruined.
