A lovely garden centre where we go for all of our houseplant and garden needs. It has a loyalty card system too and, up to the start of the pandemic, was dog friendly. I hope that the dog friendliness will return once things get back to more or less normal. Our Westie loved going there, especially the pet supplies where we bought his treats, toys and other items such as dog Coates. Sadly we lost him last year.

I bought what was clearly labelled as a Gage tree in 2019 that, when it came to fruit turned out to be a Victoria Plum. I emailed the company to claim a refund but after nearly two weeks of waiting I had no reply. I went into the garden centre and spoke to a manager. He told me they had, “been having problems with emails”, but didn’t elaborate or apologise. I explained the problem, produced the original receipt for the Gage tree and pictures of what it had turned out to be. All that was offered as a solution to them selling me the wrongly labelled product was for me to dig it up, bring it back and gain a credit note for when (if) they got a Gage tree into stock. No apology was offered for the error and there was no acknowledgement of the work I would have to do to bring the tree back to them! After a year in the ground and the fact that I’d put a brick border around the tree I can’t see digging the it up as a good option. I expected a full or partial refund for the error they had made, but no mention of any recompense was made. I moved to the area last year and spent at least £300 at Coletta and Tyson. I shan’t bother going in their ever again and would advise others to try elsewhere if they want proactive and helpful service and good aftercare.
