Had to go into Diss Garden Centre to buy some wire on Sunday 3rd Dec 2017. The total came to £4.98 and at check out-after a long que, was told that it had to be over £5.00 to accept debit cards! Not having 2p cash in this trending cashless society, I said I didn’t need anything else, but was told the rules. Apart from the fact this practice is so soSooo annoying and incorrect, it’s pointless: Credit Cards, do charge a fixed fee per transaction up To 75p per transaction, Debit cards (ie owners take note, means I have cash in the bank not reliant on credit) they charge a percentage of the sale, typically 0.2% per transaction which any modern forward thinking business should account for when they mark up their goods. I walked out leaving the items behind and they lost a sale and they now have a customer who will never go back, all over 2p, Some people should not be in the service industry and all the staff should go on a customer courtesy course! I visit Diss Garden Centre often, sometime just to browse and sometimes to buy. The knowledge of the Team and Customer service is excellent. They are polite and helpful without a heavy sales pitch. Well done Diss! In this world of one click, on line sales it is so good to know I can come along and ask any question no matter how stupid and I will be given the correct advice. The plants, trees and other products I have purchased have always been top quality.

I visited this garden centre for the first time as I have just moved into the area and I will definitely be returning! The plants are all of a fantastic quality and looked after very well unlike other places I could mention. The staff were all very friendly & knowledgeable also very helpful. They have the most fantastic pet department, with the largest range of dog food I have ever seen & all at very reasonable prices. I feed my dog skinners & I now pay much less than I was paying at my previous store. One word, Excellent!
