Haven’t been for a couple of years. Have to say very disappointed- looks like the place is on the verge of going bust. Gone is the nice range of kitchen equipment. The garden centre was devoid of stock and you could have driven a bus between the shelves; the shop was so bare.
Tried the cafe - won’t bother again - first two choices not available. Service dreadfully slow and fragmented. Food kept warm but was dried out especially the roast potatoes which were like rock.
Also the high end appliances in the boundary mill seem to have gone- what a shame - doubt we’ll be back

Called at Downtown Garden Centre today and decided to have some lunch. Pie, potato and veg. As my husband and myself began to eat into the food, we realised what a mistake we had made. The roast pots were so hard you had to wait for the gravy to soften them, the pie was also hard to eat as the pastry was over cooked. My husband had so much difficulty getting it down that he was choking on the food. We paid £13.90 for something we couldn't eat. Perhaps you should re think your timings for food as it was only 1.20pm when we arrived, the pies and roasts had obviously been sitting ready since 12.00.

Bought a Portsmouth Lantern as a Xmas gift for a friend when on holiday nr Grantham in Nov. Came to test it prior to wrapping - doesn't work!!! Contacted store seeking return of my £14.99 - Alternative provided - return item by post (with postage reimbursed) - problem- too late for my friends Xmas/high risk of breakage in post because it is mainly glass and little expectation of having my costs covered.
Solution - write off my £14.99 and never shop @ Downtown garden centre or associates again
