As a regular Garden Shop Customer I am delighted with the quality and service I receive from both the shop and the cafe. I was therefore so bemused to see the only other review.. that I had to ring the current owner for an explanation! It transpires that this Customer complained to the current owner about plants bought a year ago from the previous owner! As a keen gardener myself it is a sad fact that plants do not last forever due to slugs and other invasive plant demolition experts!! If that was my Business I would have also stood my ground! I have bought plants from both the previous and new owners and the quality has always been second to none. I find the staff to always be most informative and helpful. I continue to recommend the Garden Shop to all my family and friends!

I thought the anonymous review a little strange so had to contact the Garden Shop and ask. I feel that the quality of plants, sundries and gifts is second to none...coupled with a wonderful new cafe. From my phone conversation with the owner it would appear that the plants mentioned were purchased a year ago before the new owner took over, from Nick Weldon the previous owner. Frankly if I owned a Garden Centre and someone came back complaining about plants a year down the road then I would probably share the same conclusion as the new owner! Maybe these people should firstly get a life !!! and secondly learn how to care for their plants, as I understand Nick Weldon's were also of the highest quality! May I wish the new owner good luck and hope|Customers like that are in the minority!!

Very, very disappointed - I took back two perennials which had failed - having spent hundreds of pounds there last year replanting whole sections of my garden. The new owner refused point blank to exchange them, rudely implying that my poor gardening skills/lack of care for the plants were to blame!?!
Needless to say, I will be taking my custom elsewhere this year.
Generally, there is now a much poorer selection of plants and a clear lack of understanding of the most basic principles of customer care/service... which is a huge shame, as I used to love this shop. :(
