Called in yesterday to get something from the £ shop. Had been thinking about getting a decent size plant to grow on a pot to block what is becoming a "rat run" between our neighbours house and ours for the nuisance leaflet deliverers, and found a Yew of the ideal size at a fair price. The guy working in the outdoor plant section explained all its needs (pot size, compost type etc) and noticing I use a walking stick carried it to the checkout and left it there for when we'd finished shopping. Saw the girl at the checkout and told her we wanted some John Innes number 3 and she organised a young man to get it and put it in the trolley for us. My wife pushed it out to the car and another of your young men came and offered to lift it all into the back of the car for us. What can one say about service like that?? Excellent!!!!

Not as good a range of garden/houseplants as some garden centres, but what they do keep (which is ok for most people) are competitively priced and in good condition. The range of fruit trees and bushes is very good indeed and again well priced. As a tropical fish enthusiast I'm afraid I wouldn't buy fish from them....the conditions they are kept in and the display leaves much to be desired. The food shop, cheap DIY and housewares are all very well but to me detract from the garden centre image. Have been a regular customer for many years and despite some negative comments given will carry on buying there. Overall as a garden centre, that part of it is very good.
