Some very good plants, reasonably priced. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good displays near to the entrance illustrate good planting/colour combinations. As a professional garden designer/gardener, I use Mires Beck frequently as it does not just sell the 'run of the mill' plants found at most garden centres.

We used to enjoy visiting this nursery because it helped the disabled find work but what we didn't realise was that the people who attend actually pay using their allowances to go so what is the charitable status for, probably to pay managers big wages? Apart from that it is run very badly, we joined the friends scheme where you get a discount on all plant and then weren't given a membership card the sales lady then didn't believe we were members and only gave us the discount begrudgingly. When you need someone to help there isn't anyone, you have to find them or ring a bell and if you have a question about plants no-one knows anything. When we went some of the plants on the big beds were dried out, fallen over, withered very badly cared for. Not very good experiences

We have been visitors to Mires Beck Nursery for a number off years and have seen the Nursery slowly grow from quite humble beginnings to what is now an inspirational 'garden Centre' offering a wonderful environment for many disabled members of the East Yorkshire community to learn skills and make their own contribution to society. On top of all this the nursery itself is a wonderful place to wander round and purchase a wide selection of good quality plants (still growing during my last visit 4 0r 5 months ago) and because the nursery is still run as a traditional type nursery the staff will be able to advise on the most suitable growing conditions for individual plants. Well worth a visit.
