We came here for coffee when on a bus trip from Orkney. We had the best cappuccino and best cake (applecake with cream) since leaving orkney. Great atmosphere and staff too. 100% recommend.!

I visited The Old Well, with my parents. We live in South De on and we found the garden centre light, bright and well stocked. We found the staff warm and friendly. We visited on 21 Match so the cafe was only doing takeaway coffees and due to Coronavirus restrictions the restaurant was closed. We bought a home made cake which was delicious for £4.50 which we thought was a bargain. Plants were very reasonably priced and we saw some water features which were on special offer which we were very interested in, alas the current restrictions mean we cannot travel back from Totnes at the moment as my partner has a kidney transplant so self isolating.

Today, (23rd Aug) at approx 14:10, my wife and I visited The Old Well for an afternoon cup of coffee and a cake. We entered the restaurant and obeyed the saying wait to be seated . We asked for an inside table - my eyes had just been dilated so I was finding the lovely sunny day a little too bright for my eyes.
We were shown to a table at the further end of the restaurant where we sat down and waited to be served. Nobody bothered with us.
We waited for about twenty minutes whilst the one waitress serving people at the counter totally ignored us..
I was becoming annoyed. Eventually I said to my wife 'Come on, we'll try the other end!'
We queued, only to be told that we could not purchase a toasted scone and cup of coffee for £2.65 which was being offered in the restaurant.
We walked out. We have been regular visitors to the Old Well for some years. But we won't be bothering you again!
