We visited Sandon Garden Centre for the first time this week and were favourably impressed. We liked the way that part of the site has been presented as small garden areas, giving ideas for the different looks you can get. We also like the way the sales area is mainly grouped in colours, which works for us because that's how our garden has developed.
There is not a huge stock of plants, but (unlike many garden centres) they all looked healthy. The plant prices are generally pretty average for a good garden centre (although there was a sale area which offered some bargains).
There is a small home and gifts area which featured good quality items, not the normal mass produced stuff.
And finally, the cafe... well, that is very good. It is nicely furnished, giving a good atmostphere, and the food is fresh and features local produce. The cream tea was glorious - some of the best scones we have ever tasted, with generous portions of jam and cream. We will definitely visit again.
