Those cold winter nights and even balmy summer nights are more enjoyable with an outdoor heater or firepit to keep you warm for hours after the sun sets. Adding a heat source to your garden furniture is therefore no unnecessary luxury. When it comes to outdoor heating, the choice is very wide. From electric heaters to fire pits and from gas heaters to chimeneas. With this article, we therefore aim to create a pathway to help you choose the right outdoor heating source for your garden, patio or balcony.

Electric heat or fire to keep you warm?

Outdoor heaters are not just a source of heat, they create a welcoming ambience to sit back and unwind. A heater blends very well in modern styled gardens, whereas fire pits create that characteristic campfire feeling right in your own garden. Are you still deciding whether to choose a heater or a firepit? When choosing an outdoor heater or fire pit, there are several things to keep in mind:

  • The size of the area you want to keep warm;
  • The amount of wind that may cross that area and the heater;
  • Whether you want a heater on gas or an electric heater;
  • Whether you want to be able to see and directly adjust the temperature of the heat source.

Outdoor heaters

Outdoor heaters are ideal in their ability to quickly and easily regulate the heat they radiate. Gas and electric outdoor heaters warm up quickly and their temperature can be regulated with just the press of a button. Additionally, they are ideal for places young children or animals may run around. It is therefore that these heat sources are very popular for outdoor lounge areas, as well as terraces and balconies. Yet, electric or gas heaters do not create the same experience fire pits do. The heat is created without the sight and crispy sound of real flames.

Firepits

To create the real camping fire feeling right at home, fire pits are the best choice. They come in all shapes, sizes and styles to fit any garden. Additionally, almost all fire pits on the market nowadays allow you to regulate the fire easily, making it a safe option while enjoying the sight of real fire. Combine a fire pit with a lounge set, pillows and a plaid and you are all set to enjoy your garden till the late hours.
