Red Robin

Photinia ‘Red Robin’ (AGM) - the most planted shrub in the country.
Spectacular evergreen with glossy, dark green, leathery leaves and new growth brilliant red, giving a stunning display especially in the spring. The new growth turns to bronze by late spring then to green, but all new flushes of growth throughout the growing season are brilliant red. Thrives in any reasonable soil, but not extremely alkaline. Also look our for ‘Little Red Robin’, a more compact variety growing to half the size as ‘Red Robin’. Available at all good garden centres in a range of sizes, from small plants for hedging to large, often Italian specimen of several hundred pounds.
