Plant of the week: Garden Hibiscus

Garden Hibiscus - Shrubby Mellow
The Garden Hibiscus is one of the most attractive of all late flowering shrubs in the garden and are available in a wide range of colours, often with dark centres. The require any free draining soil in a sunny position.

They are moderately quick growing up to 2m (7ft) and more and are a sound choice for beds, borders or planted as specimen on their own.

Popular varieties include: 'Blue Bird' (AGM), Hamabo (AGM) - white with crimson blotch and Woodbridge (AGM) - pink with crimson blotch.
