This was the most expensive Father Christmas grotto we have been to. Lovely animals but no grotto gifts for the kids.... Just an unwrapped 10p candy cane each or unwrapped chocolate coins ! Pitiful really. We paid nearly £15 for a 5 year old, 2 year old and 1 year old. A rip off.

Woodborough Garden Centre has a real family atmosphere so even if you visit on your own it is a real pleasure. I've watched the garden centre grown over the period of time of my visits onwards and upwards. Good luck for the rest of 2014. Bring it on for 2015!

This review is for the cafe and not the garden centre. The cafe is generally very good but breakfast is always a let down. The general complaint is that the food is not cooked through. I can't understand how chef's can mess up this basic skill. The hashbrowns should not be crunchy on the inside nor should the mushrooms. Scrambled eggs is not an omelette with cream, it should be cooked slowly and on a low heat. If you go for breakfast here ensure you take charge otherwise you'll just get wound up.
