We went and we didn't like the refit at all, it has lost its edge. Before it felt like a lovely outdoor room, now its just a mass of tables and chairs. The staff were slow on the drinks counter. since they changed the layout of the garden centre it is awful. Its more of a shopping experience than a garden centre now. Hardly the place to go if you want it to be more about plants than anything else. If you arrive and just want a quick drink before you browse, its quite a trail to the coffee area and then it's a long trail back to the beginning. It's not for me anymore. Much prefer Palmers garden centre.

I and my family visit Woodlands on a regular basis for plants and on occasions for lunch. On Saturday 23rd Feb, together with my visitors, we decided to go for lunch since the refurbishment of the restaurant. The place looks good, however, but it was a total disappointment. We had raved about what a wonderful place it was even though it is slighty expensive. However, it was total disaster. We ordered 5 jacket potatoes. I know times are bad, but we were paying for a service. The salad that was served was as if they were trying to make it last till end of service. Next, baked beans...there was only enough for two servings. The beans in themselves was a stodge, as they had been scrapped off the bottom of the dish and had run out. The meal cost £50.00. What a waste of time, money and praise!

went to woodlands restaurant today with my husband. bad mistake. we ordered fish and chips and a pot of tea. by the time we had cued to pay for the meal the food was stone cold. not the kitchen staff'sfault but the girl on the till (susan) was so slow and also she couldn't get my gardening club card to add points on. other wise the centre is very good if a little expensive on some things.
