SEED MERCHANTS Thompson & Morgan has unveiled two new seed collections for 2011. The Heritage Collection comprises 30 veg varieties to satisfy demand for "tried, tested and trusted varieties of old," said the company. It includes Parsnip 'The Student,' Leek 'Bleu de Solaise' and Cabbage 'Wheelers Imperial'. Many varieties classed as "heritage" are pre-1950 and "represent some of the best products from years gone by," T&M said. Also new for next year is the Kew Urban Collection. It's aimed at gardeners who only have tiny gardens or just a terrace or balcony. Highlights will include Pea 'Avola,' Lettuce 'Hollywood,' Tomato 'Tumbling Junior' F1 and Carrot 'Nandor' F1.
