Find your garden centre

Dobbies Garden Centres Rugby started life as Bernhard's Corner Nursery growing ornamental and fruit trees in tandem with a cash and carry trade nursery. Then owned by Jeffery Bernhard, legendary founder of the Garden Center Association, it is located in the heart of Warwickshire by the 'straight mile' intersection on the A45 - its proximity to the ancient Fosse Way leading to many a speculation about ghostly appearances around the site!

My husband and I visited the Blooms garden centre at Rugby today with a groupon voucher for afternoon tea for two. We had the most appauling service. We waited for 25 minutes in the queue to be served. There were only 2 staff serving and it was a busy Sunday afternoon. We then waiting for 1.5 hours for it to be served after repeated requests as to when we would receive it, They had a power cut for about 5 mins and staff shortages were used as an excuse but we had alreeady been waiting for 45 mins before that, When it finally arrived it was served on plates no cake stand and all we received was a few dry sandwiches and some cakes which were ok. The whole restaurant was in disaray, no trays, no crockery available. We had been really looking forward to this as the voucher had been given to us as a gift. I complained repeatedly to the restaurant manager but to no avail. They were obviously not enough staff to deal with the public and deal with a childrens party that was going on.

Visited blooms this afternoon with friends and her grandchild .It was well laid out and enjoyed the outlet shops .the little girl went into the play area which she enjoyed playing with other children as the grown ups made use of the cafe .I had to return two cups which looked dirty and the two replacements weren't as clean as I would have liked .One other thing I'd like to add is could the door into the children's area be changed its very heavy and we think its an accident waiting to happen ?
