First time back at Dobbies in three years,wanted to start with lunch,2 Fish and chips and peas £21 and it was horrible ,staff chatting amongst themselves,it was very chaotic at peak time. Garden centre fine

Went to have breakfast at cafe, having waited 15 minutes in queue which in itself is unacceptable, while 4 staff serving drinks 1 serving food, who was coughing into a tea towel, and not coping with the serving of the food..... when we got to be served we were then told we would have to wait few minutes for eggs. The staff were queue jumping customers who only wanted drinks instead of helping serve the food, so not only did you have queue for food you then had to queue for drinks and your food got cold.
Very poor customer service, I complained to the manager and left

Came across this garden centre by accident whilst travelling down South & stopped here for a coffee break with my Husband, we weren't very impressed with the very slow service at the food department on this day otherwise all was good . We had a quick look around the place & was quite impressed & just had to come back for a longer visit & browse a few weeks later.
It made a lovely change from Wyevales which is our current large local garden centres, I found the prices competitive & the choices of goods exciting & came away vowing to go back for a couple of larger items which caught our eyes when our decking is completed & our purse & pocket refilled .
The staff in the store seemed very friendly & helpful too .
